For nearly half a century, an inquisitive and adventurous man from the forgotten world Gallifrey has journeyed through time and space in his spacecraft, a rickety Type-40 TARDIS forever locked in the form of a 1960's London Police Box. Together with Amy Pond and Rory Williams, the Doctor explores the cosmos and battles evil in all its myriad forms in BBC America's hit television series Doctor Who. On Christmas Day, December 25th, 2011, the Last of the Time Lords returns to BBC America as the latest Doctor Who Christmas Special, "The Doctor, the Widow, and the Wardrobe," makes its debut.

The Doctor, portrayed by Matt Smith, finds himself in war-torn England embarking on a magical and mysterious adventure with a young widow and her two children. Joining Smith will be a guest cast including Claire Skinner (Outnumbered), Bill Bailey (Black Books), Arabella Weir (The Fast Show), and Alexander Armstrong (Armstrong & Miller) for the emotional and festive special, packed full of Christmas thrills and chills.

Set during the Second World War, "The Doctor, the Widow, and the Wardrobe" sees Madge Arwell and her two children, Lily and Cyril, evacuated to a draughty old house in Dorset, where the caretaker is a mysterious young man in a bow tie, and a big blue parcel is waiting for them under the tree. They are about to enter a magical new world and learn that a Time Lord never forgets his debts.

HBO has acquired the rights to Neil Gaiman’s Hugo and Stoker Award-winning New York Times bestseller American Gods for development as a fantasy series. Academy Award-winning cinematographer Robert Richardson – who will co-write the series pilot with Gaiman – brought the novel to the attention of Tom Hanks & Gary Goetzman’s Playtone (Big Love, The Pacific, John Adams), who in turn brought it to HBO. Warner Bros. announced April 10 via a press release that director Zack Snyder’s new Superman film will be titled Man of Steel, and that Superman, played by Henry Cavill, will be going up against General Zod, this time portrayed by actor Michael Shannon (Revolutionary Road, Boardwalk Empire).

The main cast also includes Amy Adams as Lois Lane, and Diane Lane and Kevin Costner as Martha and Jonathan Kent. Charles Roven, Emma Thomas, Christopher Nolan and Deborah Snyder are the producers of the film. The screenplay is being written by David S. Goyer based on a story by Goyer and Nolan. Thomas Tull and Lloyd Phillips are serving as executive producers.

Columbia Pictures has announced that the new Spider-Man film starring Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spidey will officially be titled The Amazing Spider-Man. The film will be released in 3D on July 3, 2012. In addition to the official title announcement, Columbia also revealed the below image of Garfield in his full Spider-Man costume, which also reveals that Amazing’s version of the character will be webslinging with the character’s signature web shooters. The trailer for the upcoming motion picture X-Men: First Class has been revealed. Directed by Matthew Vaughn, the movie takes place in the 1960s with the Cuban Missile Crisis and Civil Rights Movement serving as the backdrop for the controversial emergence of mutants.

Scheduled to debut this June, the movie stars James McAvoy (Professor Charles Xavier), Michael Fassbender (Erik Lehnsherr / Magneto), January Jones (Mystique), Nicholas Hoult (Hank McCoy / Beast), and Kevin Bacon (Sebastian Shaw). Even though this movie is the fifth installment of the X-Men film series, press surrounding it says that X-Men: First Class will be a prequel to a three-movie trilogy.

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has announced the nominees for the 68th Annual Golden Globes. AMC's The Walking Dead, adapted by The Shawshank Redemption's Frank Darabont from Robert Kirkman's best-selling zombie series from Image Comics, has been acclaimed by critics the world over, and the series was nominated for Best Television Series: Drama by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.

The Golden Globes will be awarded on January 16, 2011.

While children around the world are counting down the days to Christmas Day on the 25th, Doctor Who fans on both sides of the Atlantic are also counting down the days to the 25th and the premier of Doctor Who's "A Christmas Carol" on BBC-1 and BBC-America.

It's the deepest part of winter, the exact midpoint, Christmas Eve – halfway out of the dark. Amy and Rory are trapped on a stricken space liner that's plummeting through banks of thick icy fog to the surface of the planet below.

Only one man has the power to save them; only one man is in possession of a machine that can clear the fog and let them land safely.

That man is Kazran Sardick, a rich but lonely old miser who rules Sardicktown with a sky-mast of iron.

The Doctor's only chance of rescuing the ship's four thousand passengers is to save Kazran's soul and show him that life is worth living. For this he needs to go back, way back, to when Kazran was a boy with a life full of promise.

But can the Doctor put a song in Kazran's heart and love in his life, in time for Christmas? Can he bring him out of the dark?

Starring Matt Smith (the eleventh Doctor), Karen Gillan (Amy Pond), and Arthur Darvill (Rory Williams), "A Christmas Carol" guest-stars Harry Potter's Michael Gambon and Welsh opera star Katherine Jenkins in her acting debut. Inspired by the work of Charles Dickens, "A Christmas Carol" is penned by Hugo Award-winning showrunner and executive producer Steven Moffat and premieres on Christmas Day, Saturday the 25th of December at 9:00 p.m. EST.

Marvel Comics' Norse God of Thunder, Thor, comes to movie theaters this summer in a long-awaited film adaptation directed by acclaimed direct Kenneth Branagh (Henry V) and starring Chris Hemsworth as the God of Thunder, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, and Sir Anthony Hopkins as Odin.

Thor, banished to Earth from Asgard, must learn humility, find a way to return to Asgard, and overcome a threat to the Nine Worlds of Norse myth that would destroy all of creation.

Attached to The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, the Thor trailer will be seen by movie audiences throughout the holiday season, piquing their interest in the comic adventures of Thor and the Norse gods.

The marketing campaign for Marvel Studios’ Thor is ramping up, with a teaser poster for the film to appear on Yahoo! Movies today, footage from a new trailer to appear on tonight’s Entertainment Tonight, and the trailer itself to be attached to Disney’s The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, debuting in theaters with midnight showings on Friday, December 10.

The new trailer will then be released December 10 at 4 p.m. PT on Yahoo! Movies and air on Friday’s Entertainment Tonight at 4:30 PT. The trailer will also be attached to Disney’s TRON: Legacy when it opens with midnight showings on December 16, a date when the teaser poster will also be shown in theaters.

Speaking of trailers, the first trailer for TRANSFORMERS: Dark of the Moon, the third TRANSFORMERS film from director MichaelBay, has made its debut online. Check it out on the movie’s official Apple.com site. The film is currently slated for a July 2011 release.

With the 10^th and final season of Smallville now under way, Variety.com has reported that The CW has begun hunting for a superhuman successor to that series by ordering a pilot script based on the DC Comics heroine Raven. Diego Gutierrez, who most recently served as co-executive producer on three episodes of V, has been tapped as the writer & executive producer for the possible series.

Actors Campbell Scott and Julianne Nicholson will play the parents of Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) in the new Spider-Man film from director Marc Webb. Additionally, "Slumdog Millionaire" actor Irrfan Khan has joined the cast of as a character named Van Atter, and Rubicon’s Annie Parisse has signed on to play his wife. As part of DH:HD, the joint initiative of Dark Horse, USA Today, and Toshiba, the first four pages of the original The Goon: Irish Wake story from writer/artist Eric Powell is now available on USAToday.com along with Powell’s insights on this particular The Goon story. ‘I was really excited to do this one,’ Powell told USA Today. ‘Any chance I'm offered to get the word out about The Goon, I jump at it. In an Entertainment Weekly interview, director Christopher Nolan confirmed that he plans for The Dark Knight Rises to be his last Batman film and discussed an Inception-based video game that’s being developed. ‘I must say that I’m glad — I’m very, very glad — to be embarking on the last chapter of our Batman saga without any sense of obligation or duty to the studio,’ Nolan told Entertainment Weekly. ‘They did very well with Inception. So I’m able to go into finishing our story in a very enthusiastic way.’

Deadline.com is reporting that Frank Darabont, the director, executive producer, and writer of AMC’s The Walking Dead has fired the show’s entire writing staff and, rather than filling the staff positions, is considering using all freelance writers for the second season. Darabont wrote two of the first season’s six episodes and co-wrote/re-wrote the other four. Executive producer Robert Kirkman and freelance writer Glen Mazzara wrote two episodes as well.

Over at the Los Angeles Times’ Hero Complex blog, Star Trek writers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci provide Complex’s Geoff Boucher with an interview in which they discuss the upcoming sequel (scheduled for 2012) to director J.J. Abrams’ blockbuster.

On January 14, 2011, Sony/Columbia’s Green Hornet 3-D movie brings the star of radio, pulps comics, and TV to the big screen with the help of stars Seth Rogen (Britt Reid /Green Hornet ), Cameron Diaz (Lenore Case), Jay Chou (Kato), and more.

It's official. After rumors that began weeks before the first episode of AMC's The Walking Dead debuted, the cable network has at last officially announced that the show has been picked up for a second season that will consist of 13 episodes.

This news come after last week's 90-minute, Halloween premiere of the show's first episode, "Days Gone Bye," captured 5.3 million viewers. Encore airings brought in another 2.8 million viewers, bringing the overall ratings number to 8.1 million. That impressive tally not only made this AMC's most-watched TV series debut, but also set the record for the largest audience for a series premiere on any basic cable network in 2010. The second episode, "Guts," aired in the same 10 p.m. ET time slot and had an estimated 4.7 million viewers tuning back in to follow the series.

“The ‘Dead’ has spread!” said Charlie Collier, President, AMC. “No other cable series has ever attracted as many Adults 18-49 as ‘The Walking Dead.’ This reaffirms viewers’ hunger for premium television on basic cable. We are so proud to be bringing back ‘The Walking Dead’ again, across the globe.”

"Keeping a series like this going year after year is all about creating good jumping-on-points for new readers," says Kirkman. "And what better way to jump on than with the very first issue? Making this series available in single issue form will make it easier for new fans to jump on board and for old fans to fill in any gaps in their collection."

Extras from the first and second episodes are currently available at AMC's The Walking Dead blog, and the third episode, "Tell It to the Frogs," is scheduled to air on Sunday, November 14, at 10:00 p.m. EST.

The next comic part of DH: HD, the initiative from Dark Horse, Toshiba, and USA Today, is Serenity: Downtime, an all-new, eight-page story exclusive to USAToday.com that comes from writer Zach Whedon and artist Chris Samnee.

After the second episode of The Walking Dead brought in 4.7 million viewers, AMC announced that it had renewed the show for a 13-episode second season via a press release. No details about when those episodes might begin airing were provided. Click here for more information.

Consumer Products, DC Entertainment and Nick Grace of Water Lane Productions Ltd. have announced that the live show entitled Batman Live will begin touring the United Kingdom and other cities in Europe beginning summer 2011 before coming to North America in 2012. The new animated series, a re-imagining of the popular, original series “G.I. Joe A Real American Hero,” takes viewers back to the origins of the G.I. For decades, DC Comics’ Dynamic Duo have battled the super-villains of Gotham City, striking fear into the hearts of cowardly, superstitious criminals and carting them off to jail and Arkham Asylum. Over the years, numerous heroes have donned the cape & cowl of the Dark Knight, most recently Dick Grayson, the world’s first Robin the Boy Wonder, who assumed the "Mantle of the Bat" when his mentor was "killed." Now, the original is back, as Bruce Wayne returns to the DC Universe and Gotham City. But, who will be Batman now?

As it turns out, both Wayne and Grayson will operate as Batman (Batmen?), according to a report published in the August 30th edition of The New York Post. In writer Jeremy Olshan’s “Now two Batmen,” The Post provides several “spoilers” for events in upcoming DC titles like Batman and Robin and Batman, Inc., including the possibility that there may be more than two Batmen running around before everything’s done.

DC Comics Co-Publisher Dan DiDio revealed that former Robin Dick Grayson will continue to guard the streets of Gotham with the new Robin, Bruce Wayne’s son Damian, while the multibillionaire behind internationally connected Wayne Enterprises will take a more “global” approach to crimefighting.

The Animation, which adapts a scene from the comics which did not feature in Edgar Wright's film, the founding of Scott's band, Sex Bomb-Omb. The film's cast, including Michael Cera (Scott), will reprise their roles for the short animation.

The cartoon will be broadcast during commercial breaks of [adult swim]'s original programming roughly near midnight on the 12th, and will them be posted in full on the [adult swim] website and on Facebook.

Marvel Studios’ next two blockbusters – Kenneth Branagh’s Thor and Joe Johnston’s The First Avenger: Captain America – have both been officially upgraded from standard to 3-D films, according to multiple sources including MTV.com and The Los Angeles Times.

According to Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, fans can expect nothing less than the best from the 3-D conversion process being applied to these movies, part of Marvel’s expansion of The Avengers family of films that includes the Iron Man and Hulk franchises.

"In being able to think in 3-D from the start – and having every bit of our special effects rendered in true 3-D – we have the opportunity to do it right," Feige said. "When you're working with a director like Ken Branagh or Joe Johnston, they're not going to settle for less than perfect image. They're not going to settle for something that isn't up to the artistry of everything else they've done on the film ... they're not going to put on some overlay in the last 10 to 12 weeks of post-production for a fiscal reason."

Production of the six-episode first season of AMC's The Walking Dead began at the beginning of June, and Robert Kirkman, the comic book series creator and one of the show's executive producers, has lately been making the rounds to support the project.

Kirkman, who is also writing the fourth episode of the season, recently had a chance to visit the set in Atlanta. The writer/producer shares his thoughts about bringing his comic to the small screen this week in both USA Today's "Kirkman's 'Walking Dead' Conquers Comics. Is TV Next?," and the Walking Dead blog's "Dispatches From the Set - Comic Creator and Series Executive Producer Robert Kirkman."

"'Hopefully, things likeThe Walking Dead getting made will show people that comic books are an entertainment medium. They're not just superheroes,' Kirkman told USA Today. 'Anything you could get out of a novel or a television series or a movie, you can get that in some form or another in a comic book. BBC Cymru Wales, BBC Worldwide and US premium entertainment network, Starz Entertainment, have today announced a three way co-production partnership that will develop a new series of the hit BBC sci-fi drama Torchwood. BBC Worldwide will also distribute the series to broadcasters globally.

The 10-episode instalment will be written by a team led by Torchwood creator, Russell T Davies, and produced by BBC Worldwide Productions. Davies and BBC Worldwide Productions’ SVP Scripted, Julie Gardner, return as executive producers with BBC Worldwide Productions EVP Jane Tranter. The series has been commissioned by Controller BBC ONE, Jay Hunt, Controller BBC Drama, Ben Stephenson, and Starz President and CEO, Chris Albrecht.

While previous series were based on location in Cardiff, Wales, this new installment will see storylines widen to include locations in the U.S. and around the world. John Barrowman and Eve Myles will reprise their roles as Captain Jack and Gwen respectively, along with new faces.

Announcing the commission, Ben Stephenson, Controller, BBC Drama Commissioning said: "We have a long history of working with many U.S. networks but it is incredibly exciting to be working with Starz for the first time, as well as to be reunited with the best of British in Russell, Jane and Julie. The QMx Mal holster body and belt are constructed entirely from 3.5 mm heavyweight oak-tanned steer leather. The traditionally slow-tanned, full-grain leather comes from a small family tannery and is custom dyed to our specifications. The two custom colors for the rig are recorded in the tannery’s dye formula book as “Malhogany” for the holster and ”Kind of Brown” for the belt.

The holster’s graceful vintage lines draw the eye from the triple-thickness, business-like reverse shank, past the rugged girth strap, following the heavy-duty but elegantly stitched main seam, to the traditional open muzzle. The QMx Mal holster is entirely hand stitched with traditional waxed linen thread.

The small brass buckle on the girth strap used on the original rig has only recently been identified. The QMx replica uses the exact make, model and color as was used on the screen-used prop.

The edges of the leather have been finished in the traditional manner, handed down from saddlers of the Old West. Each cut leather edge is hand burnished smooth, then sealed with gum tragacanth and a specially formulated edge coat.

Like the original, the belt gives only a single nod to decorative adornment: A simple line, incised into the leather, circumnavigates the belt’s hand-burnished outer edge. Twelve pairs of oval-punched holes march with orderly precision toward the rounded English strap point. Over 50 inches away, the Garrison-style military buckle glints with the warmth of solid brass. This unassuming piece of foundry brass is actually a first-generation casting of the original Mal Firefly belt buckle. The original was cast and then filled foundry wax copies were made from the mold. The resulting waxes were then processed into brass using the traditional ‘Lost wax’ technique. The wax model is coated in a ceramic slurry. When set, the wax is melted out and the resulting hollow ceramic shell filled with molten brass.

The attention to detail pays off handsomely in this finely finished celebration of the leatherworker's art.

LOS ANGELES (Home Media Magazine) - Sony Pictures said Thursday it will release 3D movies on Blu-ray Disc worldwide for the first time, beginning in the summer with the animated release "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs."

The launch is aimed to coincide with the summer arrival of Sony Electronics' 3D compatible Bravia LCD televisions and 3D compatible Blu-ray disc players.

"3D entertainment on Blu-ray is poised to revolutionize the home viewing experience in much the same way that high-definition televisions and Blu-ray Disc have over the past several years," said David Bishop, global president of Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, Sony's homevideo arm.

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - The Walt Disney Co on Tuesday unveiled a technology called KeyChest to enable consumers to buy films or television shows from various distributors, store them on remote servers, and play them on multiple platforms ranging from TVs to computers and phones.

Disney said it plans to roll-out KeyChest for both the U.S. and the international market, and that it will soon announce partners who will participate in the program.

"Discussions are going to step up dramatically at the Consumer Electronics Show," said a Disney spokesman, referring to the upcoming technology conference in Las Vegas.

Disney said negotiations with content distributors, cable companies and telecommunications services have been ongoing for several months.

Disney hopes the technology will be deployed before the end of 2010.

The company also said a third-party company will operate KeyChest, and that it expects other studios to make their content available through the authenticating technology Disney has developed.

Company officials said the goal of KeyChest is to make it easy for viewers to see a movie accessed from various outlets and to address the issue of compatibility in maneuvering content from device to device as well as limited storage space on consumers' hard drives.

She also said this was not intended as a Disney only venture.

"The idea is to have all the movies consumers want to buy available in this way," said Kelly Summers, vice president of digital distribution at Disney, on Tuesday in a briefing about KeyChest. "If it's Disney only, there really isn't much value here," she said.

Disney officials said they hope to use KeyChest to build momentum for the long-stalled digital distribution of films.

It comes at a critical juncture for the industry which saw the sale of films on DVDs and Blu-rays drop by an estimated 13 percent in 2009. Online sales of movies, the hoped-for bright spot for the industry, grew from $150 million to $250 million in 2009, but not an enough to offset the decline in physical sales.

With KeyChest, a consumer can buy a movie from a participating store. That customer's account with other participating services, such as telecom services or cable companies, would be updated to show the film is available for viewing.

Summers stressed that KeyChest will not be a service that consumers access directly.

Rather, Disney envisions KeyChest as a program that retailers can tap into to verify that consumers have already purchased the right to access a movie, and then make that movie available to the consumer across different devices.

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - It's Mendes. Sam Mendes. The British director is in negotiations to direct the 23rd installment of the venerable James Bond franchise.

Production is being fast-tracked and could begin as early as June with an eye toward a 2011 release.

Daniel Craig will play 007 for a third time. Marc Forster directed the previous Bond film, 2008's "Quantum of Solace," which grossed $586 million worldwide.

The MGM film will be Mendes' first action-heavy project, though his 2005 effort "Jarhead" was set amid U.S. war in Kuwait. Mendes' last directorial effort, the road-trip dramedy "Away We Go," grossed $10 million domestically last summer.

'New Moon' Already Setting Ticket Sales Record

The film doesn't start spooling through projectors until midnight Thursday, but "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" is already setting records for ticket sales.

Online ticket seller Movietickets.com announced today that the second "Twilight" movie has taken the top spot on their list of the "Top 10 Advance Ticket Sellers of All-Time." It passed the record set four years ago by "Star Wars - Episode III: Revenge of the Sith." Even established franchises like "The Lord of the Rings," "Harry Potter" and "The Dark Knight" couldn't match the early sales of this highly anticipated sequel.

"New Moon" also became the top pre-selling movie ever for the other major online ticket seller, Fandango.com. Both Movietickets.com and Fandango report that the movie accounts for 94% of all the tickets currently being sold on their sites.

Fandango also points out that its second-highest ticket seller yesterday was Thursday night's re-release of "Twilight," which is playing in some theaters before "New Moon" debuts at midnight.

While many of the earliest screenings of the film have been sold out for weeks, Movietickets.com is quick to note that there are still thousands of tickets still available for other showings this weekend. There has been speculation that news stories of advance sellouts for "Michael Jackson's This Is It" kept some potential viewers at home on its opening weekend last month.

Disney catches comics giant Marvel in a $4B web

LOS ANGELES – The Walt Disney Co. is punching its way into the universe of superheroes and their male fans with a deal announced Monday to acquire Marvel Entertainment Inc. for $4 billion, bringing characters such as Iron Man and Spider-Man into the family of Mickey Mouse and "Toy Story."

The surprise cash-and-stock deal sent Spidey senses tingling in the comic book world. It could lead to new rides, movies, action figures and other outlets for Marvel's 5,000 characters, although Marvel already was aggressively licensing its properties for such uses.

The deal won't have benefits right away, and Disney stock sank on the news. Disney expects a short-term profit hit, and Marvel characters from X-Men to Daredevil are locked up in deals with other movie studios and theme parks. But Disney's CEO, Robert Iger, promised an action-packed future.

"`Sparks will fly' is the expression that comes to mind," Iger told analysts.

Stan Lee, the 86-year-old co-creator of "Spider-Man" and many more of Marvel's most famous characters, said he was thrilled to be informed of the marriage Monday morning.

"I love both companies," he said. "From every point of view, this is a great match."

The deal is expected to close by the end of the year and marks Disney's biggest acquisition since it purchased Pixar Animation Studios Inc., the maker of "Up" and "Cars," for $7.4 billion in stock in 2006.

Marvel would follow another storied comic book publisher into the arms of a media conglomerate. DC Comics, the home of Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman, was bought by Warner Bros. — now part of Time Warner Inc. — in 1969.

Buying Marvel is meant to improve Disney's following among men and boys. Disney acknowledges it lost some of its footing with guys as it poured resources into female favorites such as "Hannah Montana" and the Jonas Brothers.

"Disney will have something guys grew up with and can experience with their kids, especially their sons," said Gareb Shamus, whose company Wizard Entertainment Group runs several of the Comic-Con conventions around the nation.

Marvel TV shows already account for 20 hours per week of programming on Disney's recently rebranded, boy-focused cable network, Disney XD, and that looks likely to increase, Iger said. The shows are "right in the wheelhouse for boys," he said.

There will be some lag before Marvel's trove of characters are fully developed at Disney, because of licensing deals Marvel has with other studios.

For example, Sony Corp.'s Columbia Pictures is developing the next three "Spider-Man" sequels, starting with "Spider-Man 4" set for a May 2011 release. News Corp.'s 20th Century Fox has the long-term movie rights to the "X-Men," "Fantastic Four," "Silver Surfer" and "Daredevil" franchises.

Both studios maintain those rights in perpetuity unless they fail to make more movies.

Separately, Viacom Inc.'s Paramount Pictures has a five-picture distribution deal for Marvel-made movies, the first of which will be "Iron Man 2," set for release next May. Paramount said it expects to continue working with Marvel and Disney.

General Electric Co.'s Universal Studios has an attraction called Marvel Super Hero Island in Orlando, Fla., that will stay in existence as long as Universal wants to keep it there and follows the contract terms, Universal said.

Disney said it will honor and re-examine Marvel's licensing deals upon expiration and may extend the profitable ones. Iger noted that when it bought Pixar, that company also had third-party licensing agreements that eventually expired, allowing the companies to move forward together.

Despite beginning to make its own movies, starting with "Iron Man" last year, licensing remained a key driver of Marvel's $206 million in profit and $676 million in revenue last year. Iger said Disney could give Marvel broader global distribution and better relationships with retailers to sell Marvel products.

However, analyst David Joyce of Miller Tabak & Co. noted that the $4 billion offer was at "full price."

Marvel shareholders will receive $30 per share in cash, plus 0.745 Disney shares for every Marvel share they own. That values each Marvel share at $50, a 29 percent premium over Friday's closing stock price. The final ratio of cash and stock will be adjusted to ensure Disney stock makes up at least 40 percent of the final offer.

Marvel shares shot up $9.72, or 25 percent, to close at $48.37 on Monday. Disney shares fell 80 cents, or 3 percent, to $26.04.

Disney investors were probably unhappy that the deal will reduce earnings per share in the short term and might not turn positive until the company's 2012 fiscal year. Disney's earnings per share will drop partly because the company will issue 59 million new shares, and partly because Marvel plans to release two costly blockbusters, "Thor" and "The First Avenger: Captain America" in 2011. DVD sales of those films likely won't roll in until fiscal 2012.

Disney said the boards of both companies have approved the transaction, but it will require an antitrust review and the approval of Marvel shareholders.

If it works out, Marvel's chief executive, Isaac "Ike" Perlmutter, 66, will pocket a hefty payday. He snatched Marvel assets out of bankruptcy in 1998, in a deal that valued the company at around $450 million including debt, outmaneuvering investors Carl Icahn and Ronald Perelman. His 37 percent stake in Marvel is now worth about $1.5 billion.

Your Cold Cast Porcelain collectible pieces are fragile, so take good care of them. Put them somewhere sturdy and safe out of direct sunlight as sunlight will cause the colors in your collector’s pieces to fade. It is best to keep your collectible in a curio type cabinet, well away from human touch, pets, and dust. A well taken care of porcelain piece will last for generations.

One of the major issues a collector faces is when they display their cold cast porcelain piece is dust. Dust attracts oils and other contaminants from the air that will eventually cause discoloration if left unchecked.

How do you remove dust without wrecking your porcelain pieces?

Be sure to perform your cleaning over something soft like a blanket, or cushion of some sort in case you drop your porcelain piece. Cold-Cast porcelain is coated with clear polyurethane. The best care for cold cast porcelain is to dust the statue or bust with an untreated soft cloth, a small paint brush with soft bristles, or a feather. DO NOT use cleaning chemicals on your piece. Bleach or products containing ammonia will permanently damage your collectible. A single feather, a makeup brush, or a small soft bristled paint brush is great for getting into those tight, hard to reach places. Don't spray any types of dusting chemicals on wooden bases, because the chemical may splatter onto the sculpture itself ruining your collectible. If the cold-cast porcelain gets a dirty fingerprint on it, wipe it with a clean white damp cotton cloth (damp with water, not chemicals). Cotton cloths seem to work best. Other types of material may leave fuzz stuck to your piece. If the stain is persistent, use a tiny bit of Ivory Liquid on the damp white cloth, then wipe again with a clean damp white cloth and wipe dry. The first payment will be deducted from your credit card at the time the order is placed along with the processing fee. The first payment will also include any aplicable taxes and shipping charges. The next payment will be charged to your credit card on the same day of the following month. The final payment will be charged to your credit card when your item is ready to ship.

If your order is a Continental US order of $150.00 or more, please remember shipping is free.

The Cancellation Fee is as follows:

Cancellation after 1st payment - $20.00

Cancellation after 2nd payment - $40.00

How do I request Flex Pay?

Requesting Flex Pay is easy. There is only 1 requirement; you must have an order of $100.00 or more. Once you've met the $100.00 minimum and your item or items are in the "Shopping Cart Items" (Step 1), and you are ready to check out, simply click on "Checkout".

2. You will then come to the Shipping and Billing page (Step 2). Fill out your shipping and billing information, add you email, then scroll to the middle of the page. How should I pay at checkout?

Customers who use PayPal will be invoiced two additional payments. The second payment will be due one month later on the same day as the initial payment.
