LucasFilm plans to release all six Star Wars films in 3D

According to the Hollywood Reporter, LucasFilm plans to rerelease all six Star Wars films in 3D, with the new version of Episode I, The Phantom Menace, planned for an early 2012 release, followed yearly by each subsequent 3D episode. The new effects will be applied by Lucas’ Industrial Light & Magic, and the new versions will once again be released in theaters by 20th Century Fox.
